Answering Commonly Asked Questions About Pool Equipment Shades
Do you offer discounts for veterans, law enforcement or first responders?
We are proud to support the people that support us! Just let your estimator know at the time of your quote to receive a special discount.
Do I need to be home for the estimate and build?
You do not have to be home as long as we have access to the yard and there are no pets outside during the build. We do highly recommend that you are home for at least one appointment so we can review the layout and details with you in person.
Are there any hidden fees?
The price we give you at the estimate is the price you pay! No surprises. Tax is included, and there are no extra fees for paying with a credit card, so you can take full advantage of your rewards.
How much protection does your sun screen provide?
Our sun screen provides up to 93% UV sun proteciton
What is the average cost to protect my pool equipment?
Our minimum price is $1,200. Prices vary depending on size, options, and overall complexity. A typical project is around $1,900, which could be anything from a very large folding top to a small, simple full enclosure.
What is your warranty?
All of our custom builds include a 5‑year warranty on materials and craftsmanship, including the sun screen fabric. Non‑warranty repairs are capped at 10% of your original build cost. Our enclosures are intentionally overbuilt, so it is extremely rare that anything other than the fabric ever needs attention.
How long does your sun screens typically last?
The sun screen fabric typically maintains its appearance for well over 10 years before it starts to noticeably fade or look unsightly. Over time, however, it does gradually weaken and becomes more likely to tear from contact or impact. This is usually most noticeable after about 7 years on tops that receive full, direct sun.
How much does it cost to replace the fabric after the warranty?
Non-warranty repairs have a minimum fee of $100 and are never more than 10% of your original build cost.
What color fabric provides the most protection?
There is some variation in UV protection between our different screen options, but even our lowest UV-rated fabric provides more than enough protection to prevent sun damage to your equipment. We recommend choosing the color you like best, since all options will effectively block harmful UV rays.
How well do your materials age?
The sun screen fabric typically does not look aged until well past 10 years. Over time, the metal frame will naturally lighten in our harsh sun, just like other outdoor surfaces. Lighter frame colors show very little visible change, while the dark bronze frame fades and lightens the most.
Do you do block or decorative fence work?
We don’t use block, steel, or other decorative fencing. We specialize in extruded aluminum frames paired with sun screen cloth for superior strength and longevity. If you want your pool equipment shade to complement existing yard structures, we’ll collaborate with you to ensure our easy-access folding tops integrate seamlessly.
What materials do you use?
All our framework uses painted extruded 2×2” aluminum for exceptional strength and durability. The sun screen is HDPE-based fabric that outlasts typical window screens by a wide margin. All hardware is either stainless steel or painted galvanized steel.
Does your pool equipment enclosure cut down on sound at all?
Some customers report that our enclosures help reduce noise from pool equipment, but we don’t design them specifically for sound abatement. For dedicated noise reduction, consider specialized pool pump covers from companies that focus on soundproofing, they’re pricier but effective.
I have a rental house and need to keep tenants out of the pool equipment, is this possible?
If requested, we can install latch mechanisms on most enclosures that accept your padlock for added security.
Does your shade enclosure keep out rodents and pests?
Our folding tops typically require side clearance for operation, so full rodent-proofing isn’t standard. A fixed-top option may work in some cases, but for best results, use chicken wire directly on the equipment, especially gas heaters, which have an easy-to-block 2” bottom gap.
Do you offer pool cleaning services?
We do not offer any pool cleaning services.
